Pixelmator Classic
Chris, you might have entered the Vectormator mode. Press Command-Shift-V keyboard shortcut to go back. Fortunately, that is not my desktop. Several of my clients desktops do look like this.
This is quite common in the Windows world. An application frame helps them to focus on the task at hand. I have a lot of clients who would love to get away from Adobe, however, without an optional application frame Pixelmator will not be their choice. Is Mavericks fixed now? The only thing Pixelmator needs is a cleaner UI with less blacks. Everything else is there already, so maybe they will design an unique UI just for Pixelmator.
I have to bring this up again that even with the layer selected and using Control-Click I cannot receive the option to convert into a shape. Is there documentation? For an application to enter into the realm of being an abstract layer management system, where it does not belong and should only be leveraging the file system paradigm of the Operating System being used, I have to wonder if you truly should be using software, at all.
Using your Desktop to house your files expecting an abstract tool to manage your files on top of a file system is moronic. Create a damn work flow, a system upon which everyone knows which folder should contain which files, for which clients, etc. Expecting a Graphics application to waste time on this, instead of adding functionality useful to working on the files at hand, is truly sad. The app is to improve in areas on which it is meant to target, not in areas in which the user is mentally challenged to learn.
Ausra : When is Pixelmator aiming to overhaul the general interface? The new Repair tool is superior to anything Photoshop can offer, it is very impressive! Now comes the obligatory mention of what the program still lacks — I would love to be able to use this software for print projects as well. Just updated Pixelmator to 3. I open a file, and as soon as I click on a layer in that file it quits.

Mateo : Good point. It should have been re-designed from the ground up with Pixelmator 3. I, for one, am not able to keep this app opened for more than minutes. Too much black. Too many floating windows, causing too much clutter.
My eyes are soaring when looking at this interface. It is already a perfect product, but if it can be used on a single window mode, it will be even better. Pixelmator is one my favourite graphic tool.

Please fix it. You made my day :D! Mmm, cannot get this version to work on my iBook G4 with Leopard. I only get white boxes on startup instead of the windows and palettes. Seems to be some sort of window redraw problem on my system. Previous version works correctly. With every update Pixelmator replaces more of my Photoshop projects. Absolute class, the one thing I would love on the next update is support for video frame sizes and pixel aspect ratios. Maybe we can see it in version 3 or 4. I also see some people wishing for CMYK support so they can use it in print production instead of Photoshop? Beats me…. Is the a link to re-download the 1.
What a release! The snap is what I needed; I just need the guides to snap to the currently selected layer when you adjust them. When will pixelmator allow for smooth tablet strokes, and anti-aliased brush strokes for small brushes?
X era. I think it will be great and big update for me. This app could become the replacement for photoshop for me as a draftsman, but you guys should really work on smoother brush strokes when do a fast one I always get a buckled line, not a curve as expected. This version is not a huge update, but we are working on two versions of Pixelmator these days, so shipping the application was a bit harder than usual.
The two versions I mentioned above include 1 the currently released 1. But let us not talk about the Tempo yet. For the most part, the changes in Pixelmator 1. The Gradient tool now works live, which means you see the result while dragging the mouse. Fortunately, the conversion was successful, and I believe Pixelmator now has the most fun Gradient tool to work with.
